Monica is a senior labor and employment attorney with extensive experience representing businesses in complex workplace, regulatory, and litigation matters. She currently serves as a consultation attorney for the firm. She focuses on compliance counseling, workplace investigations, and defending employers against administrative charges and civil litigation under federal and state employment laws.

ABOUT monica munin

Monica has represented clients in matters arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Mine Safety & Health Act, and the Virginia Human Rights Act, among others. She regularly drafts and revises employee handbooks, workplace policies, termination documentation, severance agreements, and restrictive covenants, providing strategic guidance to help businesses mitigate risk and maintain compliance.

Prior to joining The Spiggle Law Firm, Monica practiced at PJI Law, Husch Blackwell, LLP and Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C., where she represented employers in administrative, civil, and complex business litigation matters. She also served as a Contract Attorney with the United States House of Representatives Office of Employee Advocacy, representing and advising House employees in matters arising under the Congressional Accountability Act.

Monica earned her Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law, where she served as President of the Student Bar Association and was a member of the Moot Court Board. She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia, as well as before the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Virginia.

A native Spanish speaker, Monica has been recognized by Virginia Business Magazine as part of its Legal Elite (2022–2023) and Up & Coming Lawyers Class of 2023.
