ABOUT BRIAN McENTIRE

Brian McEntire is a Senior Attorney in the Employment Law Group of the Spiggle Law Firm.  He has over two decades of experience handling complex employment litigation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII).  Brian has dedicated his legal career to advocating for individuals who have been unlawfully discriminated against on the basis of their race, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, and have been the victims of retaliation.  He litigates in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB).

Prior to joining the Spiggle Law Firm, Brian spent 22 years as an employment law attorney with the Department of Justice. For 17 years, he served in the Civil Rights Division’s Employment Litigation Section, where he litigated many high profile and complex litigation matters that resulted in systemic changes to the hiring and promotional practices of police and fire departments.  He also represented the United States in Title VII discrimination cases to remedy discrimination against state and local government employees.  On two occasions, Brian received the Associate Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award for work on landmark consent decrees resolving large-scale race discrimination lawsuits.  Prior to his tenure in the Civil Rights Division, Brian served as an employment law attorney for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, where he litigated matters in federal court, the EEOC, and the MSPB.

Brian’s philosophy in representing clients is rooted in the concepts of empathy and collaboration.  While he is a zealous advocate for his clients, he believes that building professional and respectful relationships with all parties to a legal dispute is crucial to achieving a positive result for his clients.

Brian received his Juris Doctor from the George Mason University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University.  He spends his spare time with his wife and three sons, going to way too many baseball games, and volunteering at his church.
