Attorney Maxine is a Workplace Rights Attorney and Workplace Strategist who brings a 360-degree perspective to the modern workplace. As a former credentialed Human Resources executive, certified mediator, and trusted HR consultant, Attorney Maxine represents employees at every stage of the dispute resolution process—from internal workplace complaints, investigations, and severance negotiations to proceedings before state and federal administrative agencies and, when necessary, litigation.
A member of the Texas Bar College, Attorney Maxine serves on the Board of the African American Lawyers Section (AALS) of the State Bar of Texas and on the Board of Workplace Fairness. She is also an active member of the Labor & Employment Law Sections of both the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association, as well as the Texas Employment Lawyers Association (TELA).
Her work in bankruptcy, intellectual property, personal injury, municipal law, and as both a Hearing Officer presiding over employment-related administrative proceedings and a former Assistant City Attorney has sharpened her strategic judgment and legal analysis.
Attorney Maxine is a frequent educator, speaker, and lifelong student of the law. She is a minister in her faith community, a diehard politics junkie, a logophile and fierce believer in the Oxford comma, a disability warrior and advocate, a wife, and a mother of three “kidults”. She enjoys teaching, reading, singing, cooking as a way of cultural fusion, and is a firm believer that there is no such thing as too many fabulous shoes or well-tailored jackets.
