Biography
Jo Anne Blackmon Spiggle earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Education, a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and a Doctorate Degree in Education from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. During her teaching career, she designed innovative programs for special-needs students that included parental involvement and supported students’ participation in school life. She also taught in a joint position with a community college to give high school seniors an opportunity to see how college could be part of their futures.

Jo Anne enjoys stories in books, plays, movies, and songs, as well as music, art, nature, and time with her grandchildren.
